FAERIE GLEN NATURE VILLAGE
Welcome to the Faerie Glen Nature Village (FGNV) community initiative's website.
The Faerie Glen Nature Village (FGNV) initiative strives to make Faerie Glen a safe and secure neighbourhood for all by implementing monitored access control in our area and to enhance the sense of community among residents.
The required two-thirds majority for the permission given by residents to implement monitored access control was reached at the end of 2023 and our application was submitted to the City of Tshwane on the 13th of December 2023.
Now is the time to give your financial support and become a member of FGNV.
WHY MONITORED ACCESS CONTROL?
It is a reality that criminal elements have become active in our neighbourhood. Crime reports and an increase in incidents shows that open access neighbourhoods like ours, are increasingly being targeted by criminals as other areas implement monitored access control.
Our area is becoming more vulnerable as areas around us are being closed off. Groenkloof, Lynnwood and Lynnwood North have already closed off and Waterkloof is nearing the submission date of their applications for street closure. It would therefore be prudent for us to follow suit.

WHAT IS THE CURRENT STATUS AND TIMELINE OF THE PROJECT?
The project consists of 3 phases, namely:
Phase 1: Obtaining Permission for Monitored Access and submitting the application to the City of Tshwane. (Completed December 2023)
Phase 2: Collecting financial support and contributions for the construction of the infrastructure, and tendering and managing the construction of the gates. (September '24 - April '25)
Phase 3: Going operational with the monitored access gates and appointment of security firms and guards. (Expected completion date May 2025)
WHAT NEEDS TO HAPPEN NEXT?
The next phase of the project focuses on the financial feasibility of the project and requires residents to become a member of FGNV and start contributing towards the construction phase of the project. We must establish as soon as possible, how many residents will contribute so that we can secure the financial sustainability of the project.
The committee acknowledges the shifts in the economic landscape and realises that making a single payment for Phase 2 might be difficult for many households. We have recently introduced the option of a monthly debit order payment (which remains the preferred method) or a monthly EFT payment of R600 per household. This allows for spreading the payment of Deposit 2 over the next 10-12 months, by which time we should be completing the construction of the infrastructure.
To support FGNV, please download the Membership Application and either the Debit Order Form or the EFT Undertaking, complete it and email it to roelien@proadmin.co.za
